One of our primary initial accomplishments has been to build composting toilets in villages outside Kathmandu. These low-tech innovations help create clean vegetable fields, reduce the spread of infectious diseases, and provide a measure of rare privacy for the villagers.
SEEDS provides the funds and the know-how; the villagers volunteer their labor. The outhouses are wildly popular!! Other villages are taking notice. We have numerous requests to build more of these.
S.E.E.D.S has now built hundreds of these composting toilets.
